Test Youtube hight quality video

Connect your smart phone to BT wifi

Start "Youtube"

Search for "London in 4k"

Play

Touch click on the playing video

Click the cog button

Cick "Quality"

Cick "Advanced"

Select 2160p

Now test the video.

If it stutters too much, select lower resolution to 1080p

At least 1080p video should play smoothly.

Install tester app

Go to app store

Search for "Fing"

Install "Fing - Network Scanner" app

Start the application

Click "Next"

Click "Agree and Continue"

Allow location permission

The click "Allow while using app"

Skip "Sign me in" by clicking greyed "I'll think about it"

How do you approach technology?

Select "I'm professional"

Then allow permission

How to test

Connect your phone to your BT or Virgin Media (ISP) wifi

On tester application, select "Tools" from the bottom

Scroll to the bottom on Tools page

Select "Trace route"

type "bbc.co.uk"

Cick "Traceroute"

You can check how long it takes to reach all mid points to destinations (bbc.co.uk)

You can check where speed is slowed down.

For website of UK, it should take less than 20~30ms (should be less than 10ms)
